When we pair couples, we look at all their health testing (OFA Images of their knees, hips and elbows, DNA analysis for any genetic issues that the lab or poodle have.
We test all my breeding dogs to the ALAA Gold Paw Standards and can provide copies of tests for both dogs.
When it comes to temperament we are fortunate to know our dogs parents, grand-parents and great grand-parents.
With each of the puppies from our litters, we do the best we can to raise them within our family and expose them to all aspects of daily living. During that time, we closely watch the puppies to see how they react to a dynamic world both physically and mentally.
We have at least 6 adult dogs living with us so our puppies learn how to live within their pack.
By the time you get your puppy, both of us will know him/her very well. Of course, the puppies do change a little when they leave my house to yours. You and your family will become their new pack. This is a transition that all our clients go through and of course, I am here to help you along the way.
This is a very unique time. I normally allow our clients to come and meet our dogs and family. Then, we would allow you to have a brief viewing when the puppies are 3 weeks old.
By the time, the puppies are over 5 weeks old, we’ll set up face-face and cuddles with the puppies. Now that COVID-19 has changed the way some of us do business, we do our best to adapt by sending more emails, photo’s and setting up FaceTime, ZOOM meetings. We are also exploring setting up a camera (Nest) so you can check into the litter once they are born.
We will work together on pairing a puppy of your dreams to one of the puppies in the litter.
NOTE: We refer to the size of Labradoodles as follows:
- mini (8-18 pounds)
- small (18-30 pounds)
- mediums (30-45 pounds)
- standards (45-80 pounds)
